100 Ghost Story Adventure
In the dark — one hundred candles. One hundred stories.
The 100 Ghost Story Adventure is a podcast retelling classic ghost stories and listener experiences, structured around the Edo-period Japanese parlor game Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai. The tradition holds that when the hundredth tale is told, something steps into the room. We are not in a hurry to find out what.
Each episode tells one story and extinguishes one candle. Most episodes are solo-narrated by Matt Sucre. Halloween, holiday, and live specials are produced with the show's original ensemble cast.
Cycle Two begins August 14, 2026, with Story 01 — "The Signal-Man" by Charles Dickens. Ninety-nine candles still lit.

Originally published in a newspaper in Troy, New York, this poem will go on to be a staple of the holiday season and defining the modern Santa Claus. The original poem was published anonymously, but later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who claimed authorship in 1837.

Welcome to the live (recorded on Halloween) broadcast event of the 100 Ghost Story Adventure podcast. Tonight, live from the campus of Lake Erie College via Podbean.com, we will be sharing several of the campus ghost stories.
We will hear about “Tiberius,” the campus mascot credited with saving students from the Memorial Hall Fire; “Stephanie,” the student who haunts the fourth floor of College Hall; and a personal experience with Mrs. Morley, the ghost of Morley Music Hall.
These stories will be featured as we complete a nine-story Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai, a ghost story game from Feudal Japan, rumored to attract spirits to join our gathering.
Our regular cast members, Amanda and Stephen will be sharing their own ghostly experiences in “Jared” and “Olde Towne Hall Theatre.”
A special thanks to the Lake Erie College Community, especially Dr. Jerry Jaffe for inviting us to campus (and reading a part of the script).
So enjoy the show as we bring these stories to life again.
